  • Can charge final or closing fees

While this feature may mention auctions within it there is no bidding like within an auction. Many clients use this feature for the almost like shopping cart functionality and scrap any mention of "auctions" within the feature. One configuration for this is where our clients purchase the GeoCore Max version of the software and have simple classifieds through the classifieds feature but for all "auctions" to be "buy now/inventory items only". They simply relabel the "buy now/inventory item auction" to "classifieds buy now". So they would have a standard classifieds listing and a "shopping cart classified" or "item selling listing" listing types within their sites. Of course this can simply be an option to the auction type. Where the person placing an auction can choose the auction they are placing to be a "inventory item listing" where no bidding would take place.

The basic process is that a listing is placed. Within that listing there will only be a "buy/buy now" link and no "make bid" link. The buyer clicks the buy button and chooses the quantity they wish to buy. The buyer then pays the seller. Both the seller and the buyer can then leave feedback for each other in the transaction. Since there can be mulitple buyers per listing there can be mulitple feedback between the different buyers and the one seller.

This feature also can work in conjunction with the buyer to seller gateway. For this to work you as the admin need to have that feature on. The seller needs to have inserted their paypal account email within their account details. And when placing the listing the seller checked to use that feature the buyer would be presented with a paypal link to pay the seller through their paypal account within the successful bid page. If the buyer fails to click that link they will see the link also in their "my current bids" admin tool.

You as the admin can force all auctions to be "buy now/inventory item listings" within the admin tool. You can control this ability on a user group/price plan basis or site wide. Which ever you need. Or you can simply allow this as a choice within the auction for the seller to choose or not. This feature can be turned off site wide with the same control.

And of course another reason this feature is attached to the auction feature is that you can charge final or closing fees.

Basic Featured Status for Classified Ads and Auctions

The featured status feature is probably the best feature of the software to give you added revenue above listing placement fees. This is probably the most understood feature by your clients to spread the influence of their listings within your site. This feature can significantly spread the exposure of their listing to bring them more looks to their listing, purchases from their items or a quicker sale for their single item.

Within the place a listing process the client would choose the featured status that you setup within that users pricing plan for them to have access to. They would choose featured status for the listing they are placing. Then continue on with their listing placement. Then once that listing is live it will appear randomly where ever the featured status they purchased allows them. Where ever you have a featured module set to display that listing has a chance to display there.

Another feature of featured modules is that they select all their listings randomly from featured listings within the database of possible featured listings. This gives all featured listings in the site equal chance at display to you can "oversell" the slots you have with no worries and no matter how many there are all get the same chance at display. You may adjust price accordingly to keep a certain amount of featured listings in your site.

This features cost is setup by price plan so you can charge different clients different prices to have this extra added to their classified ad or auction. You can set different prices for classified ads from auction listings. Within fee based price plans you can even set category specific pricing for each category.

Multiple Featured Levels

While you can charge one price to appear where ever a featured module is on your site like described above. You can additionally charge separately for each featured module location you have on your site. The above describes a site where all featured modules display from the same featured classified ad and auction listing pool. The above is the typical use are clients put to the featured listing extra feature. But you could charge separately for each of those featured listing locations through the use of the featured level feature.

Using the above example you could put a featured level 1 module in the top left of the front page. Then a featured level 2 module in the middle of the front page and set featured level 3 to only appear in the top of the category browsing feature. That would allow you to charge for each location to have your listing appear in that spot. You could charge $1 for featured level 1 status and appear in the top left of the front page. You can charge another $1 for featured level 2 status and display in the middle of the front page. You can charge another $1 for a listing to display at the top of the category browsing page. Your client can choose 1, 2 or all 3 locations and charged according to the ones they choose.

There are a max of 5 different featured listing levels that can be used around your site. So you can charge for up to 5 different featured levels. Or you can just keep it simple and just use one level. The choice is yours.

This features cost is setup by price plan so you can charge different clients different prices to have this extra added to their classified ad or auction. So not only can you set different prices for different featured levels you can charge them differently within each price plan. You can set different prices for classified ads from auction listings for each featured level. Within fee based price plans you can even set category specific pricing for each featured level within each category.

Seller Controls Who Can Bid

Feature included within:
  • GeoCore Auctions Software
  • GeoCore Max Auctions and Classified Software
Allows the Seller to control who can bid on their auctions.....

Feature Highlights

  • Seller chooses bidders
  • Affects all sellers auctions
  • Seller can search among all users to add to their list
  • Creates closed auctions allowed to only accepted bidders
  • Auction not hidden

This feature allows any seller to choose the bidders/buyers they will allow to bid on their auctions or buy their buy now only or inventory items sales. This gives the individual seller the ability to create their own private auctions. This feature works on all auctions. As inventory items listing and buy now only listings are apart of the auction feature this feature can be used to control the buyers that purchase items through those types of listings also.

The seller would add users to their approved bidders list within the invited bidders feature of their client area on the site. The bidders/buyers they add will be the only ones that can bid/buy from any auction, reverse auction, buy now only listing/auction or inventory item listing/auction they place into the site.

Many times in sites the seller may only want specific prequalified buyers/bidders to bid/buy on their auctions or buy now listings. This allows them to create that for themselves on your site.

You as the admin can control access to this feature on a user group by user group basis if you like so you could limit this feature to a specific class of seller on your site if you like. Or just allow it to all sellers.

RWD Design

Feature included within:
  • GeoCore Classified Ad Software
  • GeoCore Auctions Software
  • GeoCore Max Auctions and Classified Software
  • Note only with default designs added after v7.3 (all current designs with default installations)
View the site differently through a within a Smartphone browser and Desktop Browser.....

RWD Feature Highlights

  • Design adapts to size of screen viewing it
  • No "pinching/resizing" within in Smartphone browsers
  • Just scroll to see page in Smartphone browsers
  • Reduces the need for Iphone or Android App
  • Provides full functionality of site where apps do not
  • Design is included in one template set
  • Maintain one design for all devices
  • Design still allows uploading of images within Smartphone

Have you found it hard to navigate sites within your smartphone browser in the past? You could see the whole page but would need to "pinch/spread" the screen to zoom in and out of the design, The RWD feature should stop the need for that. With v7.3 forward we've included an RWD design as the default design. RWD stands for "responsive web design" which means that a single design can adapt to the width of the screen/device accessing it. The design uses different css depending on the width of the browser used to access it. Creating a design like this requires a little deeper planning and thinking in the design and actually uses different css sets with each device/screen width.

One of the advantages to the RWD design is that it can provide full functionality to the script through a web browser. Iphone and Android apps have limited functionality through them. Providing functionality through your site is much easier and more flexible. There's no app download and updating. For example design and functionality changes are implemented once they are on your site. There's no rebuilding of an app and then uploading and then waiting for the approval through the requisite personal before your app is live and downloadable..

If you want to make design changes you can change the html to affect both "views" at once. You can make changes individually to the "smartphone css" and the "desktop css" to affect each view separately. All within the same template set.

Even if you don't want to use the new RWD design for your default design you can create a desktop design and use our RWD design solely for smartphone/pad devices. The software comes with a way to set a specific template set for mobile view and for desktop view. So you can have separate designs for desktop and mobile view.

We also have a few current clients that like their current designs but need a "mobile only design". So they update and set their current design for desktops only and the new RWD design for smartphones and pad devices.

Hide Listing Details Without Subscription

Feature included within:
  • GeoCore Classifieds Software
  • GeoCore Auctions Software
  • GeoCore Max Auctions and Classifieds Software
Control access to listing details using a subscription

Feature Highlights

  • Use site subscriptions to control access to listings
  • If no current subscription can only browse categories
  • Category Browsing is a teaser to subscription only information
  • Uses subscription based price plans

This feature can make your site a subscription only access site. All the important information about a listing can be kept within the listing details page. You can use the site subscriptions feature provided by subscription based price plans to charge to see any of that information. And note by controlling access to the listing details page by subscription the contact seller feature can't be used without a subscription also.

The basic process is that a listing is placed. Within that listing is the information you want to charge subscriptin access to. The browsing client still has access to the category browsing feature and so make sure you only expose non pertinent information there. You can display enough information to get the client interested if you like though. For the browsing client to see any listing details pages they must register and purchase a subscription through their client area. You can even push them directly to the "purchase subscription process" after a successful registrations. Once they have purchased a subscription they can see the any listing details page and contact the seller of listings they are interested in. They cannot contact any sellers in the site until they purchase a subscription though.

With this feature you can charge all the same way whether they are placing a listing or just wanting to view listings. Or you can charge those that want to place a listing but have no access to view listings. The point being the ones viewing listings and those placing listings may have very different needs with their interaction with the site and so can be charged differently.

This feature plays prominently in resume posting sites. You could place all those that simply want to upload their resume in a user group that either charges a fee or nothing to upload their resume. Then you could create a separate user group for employers that want to access to those uploaded resumes. That's just one configuration. This feature can open up new avenues of revenue streams depending on your needs.
