What are credits within the software?
A credit issued to a client gives that client the ability to place one listing without paying for the placement charge.Â The credit does not cover the cost of extra features if they are selected by the client within the place a listing process.Â The credit does not cover the cost of final fees on auctions after the auction closes.Â Credits can only be used within the place a listing process unless you have specifically set them useable within the renewal process within the admin tool.
Credits are only issuable to a client who is on a fee-based price plan.Â Credits cannot be issued to a client attached to a subscription-based price plan as credits have no effect within a subscription-based price plan.
Credits can issued to clients manually within the user admin tool.Â Find the client you wish to give the credits to by browsing or searching.Â If the client is attached to a fee-based price plan there will be an option to "add credits" to that user where their current price plan is displayed at the bottom of their registration information.Â While adding the credit you also have the ability to place an expiration on the credits you are issuing to the client.
Credits can be issued automatically at registration through the price plan admin tool registration specifics form.Â You can set the number of credits to be issued and then have the ability to set the expiration on those credits by a fixed date or a fixed date from the registration date.
Note that in Geo 4.0 and higher, credits have been renamed to tokens to help reduce confusion on what exactly it is used for.
