Is there any way your ACL (or a mod to it) can be used to restrict the categories to which a user can post? For example, my auction site is non-profit specific in the sense it will be used to help them raise funds at zero cost to them. On the downside, they are restricted to one photo, no bolding or other eye catcher, and no 'featured" availability. The "Non-Profit" category is restricted for 501c(3) and C(4)s and unless you have the proper access code, you can't post an auction in that category.
On the other hand, those with a "Flea Market" user code are charged per auction but can post several photos, use eye catchers, and post in the "Featured" section. The "Flea market" user can also post in the "Garage Sale" category and his price plan will override the "Garage Sale" price plan (which is zero), but still cannot post in the "Non-Profit" category, or any other category that has a high price plan.
Your thought will be appreciated!

Hi Jack, my previous post did state: We now have an ACL plugin for the AJAX Category Select Addon which provide Acess Control List functionality to let the admin limit which categories that the members of any user group can place ads. The control panel lets the Geo Admin input the category numbers for the categories to block. Blocking is implemented on a per-user group basis.
Will this satisfy your requirements or am I missing something?

Actually, maybe I'm missing something (wouldn't be the first time!). Your post states "...limit which categories that the members of any user group can place ads." Are "Ads" considered the same as auctions? If they are, then you have what I'm seeking!
Please advise!

Yes, an "ad" is a classifieds or auction listing. If you want to purchase this addon, please do so on our online store at https://www.interactivevillages.com/...roduct_id=54,6 You will need to purchase the AJAX Category Selector Addon and the ACL Extension for AJAX Category Selector which is what allows Admin-controlled category limits for user groups. If you want us to install, you can also purchase the installation option.
Thanks

My wife ordered both items today as well as the installation. I received a notice from PayPal that they processed the payment, but nothing from IV. Let me know where to send the FTP. logins, and PWs so you will have access.

Hi Jack,
You or your wife should have received a message from the Addon Store server with download instructions. Once you download the Addons, you can unzip one of them for instructions to contact us, or just browse to http://helpdesk.interactivevillages.com and create a new account then open a ticket to post your credentials.
Thanks

Hey Bob.
Does this mean that the "ACL" now works with the latest version of Geo (ie. 5.2.4)? Last we spoke, you told me that it doesn't. And it's still not working on my end.
Please advise.
Thank you,
Ron

Yes, Geo support had me do a mod to get it working with the 5x release. Please open a ticket with us and I'll work with you to get it going.
