    Geodesic Google Map Search Addon

The Interactive Villages Google Map Search Addon provides a map search capability to geodesic classifieds, auctions and classauctions. Visitors can browse listings posted to a search page with a Google map which shows a marker for each listing. Visitors can input the search parameters similar to the Advanced Search page, and Google "push pins" will populate the map with the search results. When a user clicked on a pin it would show listing title, thumbnail, price and description with a link to the full ad page.

    hi,

is this addon still compatible with version 6?

is the search and display done on it's "own" page or is it / can it be used with the standard search results (a=19) page or, perhaps, can it also be used in tandem with your "refine search" addon on the search/search results page?

Assuming no "location" filtering is done, is the display of results only dependent on the hieght/width of the map + the zoom level? so that, theoretically, if I zoom out so entire US is visible in map, ALL listings will display on the map?

Sorry, I thought that the headline "Interactive Villages Google Map Search Addon for Version 5" would make it obvious. But to be clear, no, not compatible with version 6 at this time.

    Thanks
    Bob

thanks for the clarification, Bob. Really? You thought that it was obvious because the title didn't say "for version 5..... to infinity!" or something? You would really prefer that a potential customer assumes that your addons are NOT intended to be forward compatible and doesn't bother to inquire.... and expect a reply with clarification? As a customer I would expect, since you as a 3rd party developer work closely with geodesic and probably have a good idea what changes are being made with a new release beforehand, that your addons are already ready before the new version release or or at least shortly thereafter. Otherwise, if I already HAD purchased your product, I am put in a hard position..... update my version to reap it's new benefits BUT sacrifice the ability to use your product that I already paid for..... or keep using it at the expense of no upgrade. crumb.

oh well, at least I know now and will look at other options.

    Thanks,

    Denny

and now.... any "update" on whether this is NOW compatible with version 6? A real pity if not imo since seemed like a great thing to be able to "see" nearby ads on a map. I hope that it is/or will be soon available on version 6!

    Hi Bob,

any update on this addon? Is it finally, or will it soon be, compatible with version 6?

If not, anyone else managed to create something similar, with nearby listings displaying with different colors for each category?
