Hi Guys,
We have changed the registration process to require our approval. We have also been searching for these posts and deleting them and removing the users. If you know of any more please let us know.
Thanks

There is No way
There is no way that the 5247 user logins on this forum are legitimate.
What needs to be done is for all forum user accounts to be re-issued comfirmation emails and the accounts to be be suspeneded untill they are processed. And if they are not re-valadated after 5 days the accounts should be deleted if there are no postings.
Also there should be created public forums and regestered user forums where technical descussions are locked away from the eyes of casual hackers.A truely low cost New Zealand based online classifieds site.

We have implemented the license owners approach to this forum. We are also looking at creating another forum that will be tied into our upcoming new shopping cart that will allow only licensed users and leave this one as a public forum for users who do not yet have a license. This is still in discussion but wanted to mention the possibility of this change occurring.

Does that mean that if you pruchase and after 12 months (the period for free upgrades etc) you won't be able to access these forums?

Currently, for these forums, there is no time restriction. Most likely, we will keep that policy if we do decide to implement the idea, but nothing is set in stone.

This change is a step in the right direction
But only a step.
Hackers/spammers can still look at the membership list and farm email addresses and website urls to be used for attacks.
Also all these posting/forums are stll open to be read including the key peices of info regarding our websites purchuse/functionalities etc.
How about restructuring the existing forums and adding more public forums and also restricted forums that clearly remind people about the risks of posting in there for us to communicate in.
IE like the Beta forums.A truely low cost New Zealand based online classifieds site.
