I have just developed a website in Joomla, and my client would like to have a Classifieds section. She really likes the GeoClassifieds solution. Does anyone know if it is possible to incorporate GeoGlassifieds within a Joomla site and, if so, how you go about it in general terms?

Hi Joomla developer, welcome to the forums!

What amount of "integration" were you thinking? Typically you would install the Geo Classifieds software to a sub-folder and link into it from the main site. If you add in some sort of "RSS Reader" into Joomla, you can make it display listings from the software using the software's RSS feed.

You can also make it share users between Joomla and Geo software using the Joomla bridge, but that might not be needed if Joomla is just being used as purely "content management" like we use it for on this site.

Hope that helps, if you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask! :)

I have been speaking with Brian about purchasing a classified/auction package but we also want to use Joomla for user navigation and SEO abilities. There is currently a vbulletin to GEO bridge and if you add the Joomla bridge what issues might one have making all these bridges work?
We use Joomla on over 30 sites compatibility would be great. I would be in on a consorted effort to fund anything that might be necessary to facilitate this if needed.

The different bridges should work fine with each other when multiple bridges are used.

I dont know whether it is possible to get from other site database unless both the located in the same server.
But you can generate the HTML code for the product which you want to display in other site by using this linkyousite/admin/product_links.php?productid=yourproductid.Here you will get the html code.
Try this

Coming back to the title of this thread, How would you integrate GeoClassifieds withing Joomla:
1- By creating a link using wrapper? but that looks owfull!
2- Making a simple link to it? But here, you get out the joomla insfrastructure!

So how to do this? I've been searching the whole support area, and found nothing! Any help will be greatly appreciated!

cheers

Note that you replied to a thread from over a year ago. Now we have the free JFusion plugin which will share the users a little better than the old Joomla bridge (which used community builder).

And for integrating it with Joomla, most sites I have seen use it, use the joomla wrapper feature, you just need to set up the designs within the Geo software to not include the menu at the top (since that will be part of Joomla), and so that it matches the design of your Joomla site. It may take a lot of work, but it is possible as I have seen client's sites that have set it up successfully and they look great.
