Hello,
I have no idea of mod rewrite.I want to make my site seo friendly. So can I use SEO add on of geodesic solutions to my classifieds site?

My web host has the following information :
.htaccess file - the .htaccess file is used to override certain Apache rules/directives. There are directives that cannot be overridden and every attempt to do so will lead to '500 Internal Server Error'.
Options +ExecCGI -FollowSymLinks +Includes +IncludesNOEXEC +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch - those directives are pre-defined. If the .htaccess file you wish to use has any of those present you must comment them by placing the # symbol in-front of the directive.
- '500 Internal Server Error' will show up if an attempt is made to change PHP values (turn on/off) through an .htaccess file. Such lines should be commented and the desired change must be made by editing /sys/php4/php.ini or /sys/php5/php.ini depending which PHP version is set as global for the whole account - this can be checked by clicking on the PHP Settings icon in the control panel.

Thanks

Hi saloni,

You should use Geomodules since he seems to like to work for free. We usually charge for our services, but then again, you get what you pay for in this biz!

Seriously Bob, stop making troll posts like this. Don't try to pretend you were being nice, everyone sees what you did there.

And Lance, stop responding every time, a troll is only successful if you reply. Send one of us a PM or send in a ticket or something and we'll take appropriate action. That goes for anyone that sees any "troll like" posts like this made by anyone, the forums are not a place for stuff like this, take it outside of the forums (maybe to the Jerry Springer show or a mud-slinging campaign trail). People come here to get help, not to hear stuff like this.

If you want to offer your services as well, or suggest some addon you've created, fine, but don't belittle someone else's offer for help like you seem to keep doing.

EDIT: bolded part I'm talking about, if that last part wasn't on there the post would be a little odd, but would be a perfectly fine post.

Ok guys I give up. If my honest opion is considered a troll, I'll just let you all respond to client posts. If Lance wants to work for free, that his prerogotive. As you notice, I was the first to respond to this person's inquiry, and you are calling me a troll. Unbelievable.

you know, lance (geomodules) does a lot to help his customers that he could charge for, but he doesn't..... which is why i've bought more than one mod from him and will do so in the future. just thought that tidbit should be thrown out there.

Hi everyone. I'm in the same situation and have no idea how re-write URL's but would like to learn.

Can anyone tell me where I can get information on how to this (for the Geodesic software)? The manual tells you what to do but not how to do it.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Thanks :D

Thanks Geomodules, but don't you have to "re-write" the URL's before you upload them? That's the bit I don't know how to do. Uploading the htaccess file should be straight forward.

Cheers.

no point in starting a new thread when this one has already been resurrected recently anyway.

question, if it's going to rewrite URL's don't it do the ones on the nav bar also..

search tab:

one of my listings:

Is this right??
