I was thinking of throwing in some examples may help deliver some impact, but I think it would be hard to fit in to the structuring.

Hello,
I saw your press release on PRWeb (?) . If this is the release you are talking about...then honestly, I thought it was off topic.

HONEST ASSESSMENT:
As a person in the media, I can tel you I would have not even finished the 2nd paragraph. You spent alot of time telling the story of Geodesic and not YOUR story. People who use your site care about what your site will do for them. I felt the release was waaaay too techincal (unless of course it was going into a technical trade publication.)

If you need some guidance on how to write a good press release, let me know. I can forward to you a special report (NOT written by me BTW!) written by a former Associated Press editor.

You have a site worthy of telling YOUR story.

Hope this helps.

There where two releases mentioning Geodesic. That was not the one that I posted here.

I appreciate the feedback though. It's hard for a Real Estate Agent to build credability towards a feature on the site. Not sure which of the two you are talking about, but I don't remember going off topic in the work. I applied, as I consider, proper crediting when quoting someone. I'll keep your comments in mind though.

But as we say at the office, sometimes the worst written ad gets the best response. They all served their purpose, trial and error, research, research, and more research :). The internet is not an easy place to gain pulicity, despite all the tools and easy ways to share information.

I think this was the article that I was looking for feedback on, at that time:

I am not ready for a major media release right now. Still doing some testing an tweaking. I hope you will give some insight with your expertise when the time comes.

Thanks again, it's always good to hear insight from an outsider person. By all means, forward or point me in the direction. I will read what ever information you point me too.

Michael,
Just to let you know...I am not really an outsider (as I would call someone an outsider.) My newspaper and magazine is launching a Classifieds and Auction website to go with our print newspaper. (both using the Enterprise product). I very keenly understand the great opportunity this software brings and know that your site can quickly become the best kept secret on the web.

BTW our classifieds site went quasi-live Monday Jan 10th and the auction site is on schedule to go live in another 43 days.

Be glad to help anytime.

Hello Wayne,

I think the term, "outsider," may have been mistaken. I was not refering to someone outside the media, more of a third party. As to the reason that I origanlly posted this thread for feedback.

Thanks again. Best of luck with your new venture.

Michael

Hi Wayne and Michael:
You both have an impressive undertaking.
Sincerely Wayne, I admire that you'll be covering both the print and online ads simultaneously. Those are the areas I would like to get into. Maybe you could also give me some insights and pointers (Nothing to worry about since I live in a different state).
I initially tried covering pure real estate print ads which I think is Michaels's professional area but I'm also having a hard time getting it off the ground due to the current season.
Good luck to both of you in your endeavours !!

I'm also having a hard time getting it off the ground due to the current season.

From that comment alone, I don't think you will have a hard-time. It's all a matter of timing, in my opinion.

Good luck to you also.
