How to gain access to the client area of the forum when I am a client?

I just signed up to the forums but am not able to access the client areas (installation, admin, etc.).

Can anyone advise how I can gain access to these areas?

Also, is there a developer's guide for the ClassAuctions Ent product regarding how to extend the application without breaking the upgrade path for future versions as well as themes?
