Allow voting by registered software owners on what features to add into new releases.

PHPBB supports this type of thing and it would help on site desing and marketing plans as well.

Rating system would be nice too. It would be good for buyers to see good a sell er is.

This has always been the crux of the matter for classified "voting" systems. There is no way to limit abuse if it happens. And if it happens that makes the "vote" hold a lot less weight than it should.

Within the Enterprise Classified there is a "voting" system that limits voting one of three ways and then you are only allowed to vote on the ad itself. Not the seller directly:
1) on user from one ip can place one vote on an ad (not very reliable)
2) only registered users and only one vote each (most reliable)
3) only registered users and only from one ip address

When the ad is removed the votes for that ad are removed. A specific user purchased this functionality but hasn't been able to complete their site to see what feedback it would generate. This feature is in all Enterprise Classifieds and the controls for this feature is on the AD CONFIGURATION > "home" at the bottom of the admin page. Let us know what you think...if this feature could work or needs to be modified a bit.

Don't know how old your copy is. Do you have the "voting" option in your AD CONFIGURATION "home" page? If not just send a message to geosupport@geodesicsolutions.com with a request.

I have the option under ad configuration but where does the user actually access the voting system to cast a vote..... i have looked under the ads and cannot see anything.

good point Robertc... i have allocated the type of voting and how many per page, but there is nowhere (that i can see) for the user to actually do some votng....

Of what benefit is it? Who is going to go the ads every day voting on items?

yes a user voting system is open to abuse but so is any system, just as any service is open to abuse. Abuse is something will have to deal and manage, i know ebay system is not perfect but it works and is better then no user feed back.

Something the incorporating of the square deal good trader scheme may help.

You also have to add the "link" tag within your ad display template.
