Hi all,
I'd like to point your attention towards a unique way of promoting your site. On Kijiji.ca, there is a page that generates code for displaying a member's listings in button or banner form. The code can be included in member's personal blogs, websites, etc. and help drive traffic back to the Kijiji site.

Perhaps Geo can include something like this in a future release?

Kijiji also provides HTML code for generic buttons and banners for their site to help spread the word.

Hi doobee,

Great idea! Also very user friendly and easy. Did you develop the scripts in-house? Gave me a lot to think about, thanks.

Hi,
I didn't write the code..just thought I'd bring it to people's attention.

You can probably get a freelancer who's familliar with Javascript to make up something similar for your site.

The listing widget is based on the URL, and especially if you have re-written URLs this shouldn't be too difficult. It looks like the dynamic ones are based on search results, so that may work with the script as is too. The generic links and banners are pretty basic HTML, especially if you let people know they have to copy in ad IDs , etc
