Hello,

In the past under the topics of marketing or promoting our websites I have posted that I get a lot of traffic from writing an article on a topic related to my site, then posting the article on my site. The search engines find the article, people come in to read the article then they look around and find the classified ads. This is one of my favorite techniques for getting traffic. On a related note....

Ebooks. Convert the articles you write into ebooks then offer the ebooks as free downloads from the free download sites. Last week I "cleaned house" and went to the free download sites I use and deleted all my old ebooks. (I had not updated those ebooks for quite some time and didn't even have the original source files for them anymore.) Then, I uploaded 4 very small ebooks I made recently to two different download sites. (I find the sites to submit my free ebooks to by doing a Google search for "free downloads" or something similar.)

I just took a look at my stats and those 4 little ebooks got me 331 visitors from one site and 311 visitors from the other one. Each ebook is on a very short topic that is only one or two pages long, but I place obvious links inside them to my site. Next week I plan on submitting my humble little ebooks to more download sites and see how many people they get me.

It is important to note, at least in my case, that most of the traffic I got off of the ebooks was from people that never downloaded the ebook. Instead, most of the traffic came from people who visited the free download site, read about the ebook in the listing's description, and clicked on the link to my site included in the listing. There were only few actual downloads, but since I still got the traffic I'm happy.

You will need an ebook compiler. The one I use and love is available at http://www.ebookcompiler.com. It's $30 or $35 (can't remember) and easy to use. Essentially, you just import your already-made html pages and it converts them to an ebook. There are a LOT of cool options you can use or ignore.

If you give this a try don't put pressure on yourself to write great literature or long, complicated articles. Nice short, one topic articles are great even if they are only a page or two long.

Good luck.
