View Full Version : For users of iDevAffiliate
Moving forward with iDevAffiliate intergration. What I want to do is give those who sign up through an affiliate a percentage discount on our site.
What I want to know is:
Is this build in (probably not)
Will I be able to recode iDevAffiate to generate a discount code, insert it to the Geo Discount table and sent the details in an email to the new registrant for them to use when entering an listing.
Thanks
DC

Hi DC
Is the iDev add-on part of the software or is it a purchased add on service?
Regards
Daren
It's a plugin ( http://www.idevdirect.com ) which intergrates to Geo (around £100)
The IT Site is very nice by the way, very clean design. Will play around propley when I have more time. When's the launch date BTW?

Hi
Thanks,
The doors are open now, but still got the learning zone to finish (over the next two days or so).
The big switch on is still targetted for March 1st (advertising etc) but all functions are live and members are already coming in
Ta for the info BTW
Regards

iDevaffiliate is one of the leading affiliate scripts out there, from what I have seen and read. From what I've read on their site, it can also be located on one domain and used with others, so you could centralize an affiliate program. At least in the base version, but can't be certain whether that would still be true using it with Geo or exactly what all the integration is.
One very evident issue though is support... or lack thereof.
Nearly two weeks ago I sent in a pre-sales ticket with some questions. A little over half a week, I added to it, again stating my interests but also my concerns as I hadn't received any kind of reply back... even just to say that it will be a little longer.
A day or so after that I received a very short response which I would classify as at least bordering on being rude, that basically said that they receive hundreds of tickets a day, and could I please break all of my questions down, making them all shorter.
My questions are very specific to the integration into Geo's script and I was wondering about the ability to do some things that are probably out of the ordinary. Given this, they may have been a little longer than a standard question, but I would not have considered them extreme in length and in the end, one post back from them probably could have addressed everything and save both of us volleying half-questions back and forth to finally get an answer..... which as of tomorrow will be two weeks since the initial ticket and no response or answers.
I am still considering it but only because it is integrated into Geo and because of so many good things I've heard about the script. While it may be one of the best scripts, it is alarming that the people behind it apparently have no to little understanding of customer support and basic business etiquette. I have the feeling that the statement about receiving hundreds of support questions a day was to make them sound good, like they have so many users, but reality... if they are receiving hundreds of support questions every day, sounds more like a lot of people having problems to me.
Good luck finding answers and please update as to how things go and if you decide to use as I'd still like to weigh Geo user's opinions of it.
Is the source un-encrypted?

I have looked at like 40 of the files and see no code protection in it with those. But you would be better to email IDEV themselves. :)
